Give a Little Something Extra
Offer a Voucher to a Carer
Sometimes the best way to support a carer is simply to give them something that's just for them.
We're inviting businesses, makers, retailers, restaurants, creatives, service providers and generous individuals to offer vouchers to unpaid carers during Carers Month.
Your voucher could be for a complete product or service, or it could be a contribution towards something that costs more. There is no set value and no expectation that your voucher needs to cover 100% of the cost.
It could be a little treat, an opportunity to try something new, something practical that makes life easier, or simply something they've been putting off buying for themselves.
What Could Your Voucher Be For?
There are no set categories. Your voucher could be for almost anything someone might enjoy, appreciate or find useful.

Things That Make Life a Little Easier
A voucher doesn't have to be a treat. It could also contribute towards something that simply makes life a little easier.
You could offer a voucher towards:
-
House cleaning
-
Gardening services
-
Car washing or detailing
-
Computer or technology help
-
Meal services
-
Grocery shopping
-
Laundry services
-
Pet grooming
-
Dog walking
-
Other practical services
Or Something Completely Different
Maybe you have a business, service, product or experience that doesn't fit into any of these categories.
That's absolutely fine.
You might make beautiful handmade products, run a local business, have tickets to an event, offer a service, create something wonderful, or simply have an idea for something a carer might enjoy.
If you have something to give, we'd love to hear about it.
It Doesn't Have to Cover the Full Cost
Your voucher can be whatever you feel comfortable offering.
For example, you might offer:
-
A complimentary manicure
-
A $50 voucher towards a haircut
-
$30 towards a meal
-
A $100 clothing voucher
-
Two complimentary cinema tickets
-
$50 to spend in your bookshop
-
$50 towards a massage
-
A voucher towards a creative workshop
-
A complimentary coffee and cake
-
$50 towards a gardening or cleaning service
-
A voucher for a particular product or service
-
A larger voucher that can be used however the recipient chooses
It can be a small contribution or a generous one. Every offer gives a carer another opportunity to receive something for themselves.
Give a Carer the Gift of Choice
You might also like to offer a Carer's Choice Voucher, allowing the recipient to choose how they'd like to use it within your business.
It could be $25, $50, $100 or whatever amount works for you.
The important thing is that the carer gets to choose something that they would enjoy or find useful.
The Voucher Must Be a Genuine Gift
The voucher should be something the carer can receive without having to purchase anything, sign up for anything, attend a sales presentation or otherwise spend money with your business.
The voucher itself is free to the carer.
It can be for the full value of a product or service, or it can be a contribution towards something that costs more. If there is a remaining balance, this must be clearly stated when the voucher is offered so the carer knows exactly what they are receiving.
There should be no minimum spend required to receive the voucher, and receiving the voucher should never be conditional on making another purchase.
There should also be no expectation that the carer will become a customer, leave a review, promote your business or purchase anything else.
The aim is simply to give carers an opportunity to receive something for themselves, with no strings attached.
How It Works
You decide what you'd like to offer, the value of the voucher and how many you'd like to make available.
Complete the enquiry form below with the details of your offer.
We'll ask for information such as:
-
What the voucher can be used for
-
The voucher value
-
How many are available
-
Where the voucher can be used
-
How carers can claim or book
-
Any conditions or restrictions
-
The expiry date, if applicable
Once the details are confirmed, your offer can be included on the Carers Month website and promoted through our social media and community networks.
Carers will be able to see what's available and follow the instructions provided to enquire, claim or book directly with you.
Carers Month provides the platform and promotion. You provide the voucher.
We don't take payment, manage bookings or distribute vouchers on your behalf.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Please make the value and conditions of your voucher clear.
If the voucher only contributes towards the cost of a product or service, this will be clearly stated so carers know whether they may need to pay a remaining balance.
If there are other conditions — such as a booking requirement, limited availability, expiry date or location restriction — please provide these when submitting your offer.
Any conditions should be reasonable, clearly communicated and not require the carer to make another purchase in order to receive or use the voucher.
Businesses and individuals remain responsible for their own vouchers, products, services, premises, insurance, terms and conditions and any arrangements made directly with carers.
Carers Month simply helps connect unpaid carers with generous people and organisations who would like to give something back.
