PRACTITIONERS
1:1 Wellbeing Practitioners
Are You a Wellbeing Practitioner?
Are you an experienced and appropriately accredited wellbeing practitioner? We’d love you to be part of Carers Month 2026 and offer free one-to-one sessions for unpaid carers during October.
We’re bringing practitioners together from a diverse range of wellbeing and complementary practices to give carers an opportunity to pause, receive support and experience something for themselves.
There is no charge to carers and no sales pitch. We’re simply asking practitioners to generously donate their time and skills.
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re welcoming experienced practitioners from a wide range of complementary wellbeing and spiritual practices, including:
Massage therapists · Energy practitioners · Reiki practitioners · Kinesiologists · Reflexologists · Sound therapists · Aromatherapists · Bodyworkers · Bowen therapists · Craniosacral therapists · Acupuncturists · Naturopaths · Counsellors and wellbeing practitioners · and other appropriately qualified complementary practitioners.
If your practice isn't listed but you think it could be a meaningful experience for carers, we'd still love to hear from you.
Where Can I Offer Sessions?
We’re currently planning Carers Month events in the following locations:
Selby / Tecoma, Victoria — Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 October 2026
Southern Tasmania – Kingston Beach — Sunday 18 October 2026
Northern Tasmania — Sunday 18 October 2026
Mornington Peninsula, Victoria — Sunday 25 October 2026
Different locations will have different venues, spaces and programs.
Where suitable space is available, practitioners can offer sessions at the event. However, many of our event spaces will be open or shared environments, and there may be background noise from the venue or other activities.
We’ll do our best to create quieter spaces and are hoping to source earplugs for practitioners and carers, but we cannot guarantee a completely quiet environment.
If your practice requires privacy, quiet or specialised equipment, we strongly encourage you to offer your free Carers Month sessions from your own clinic, studio or practice space.
You can still be fully involved in Carers Month. We’ll profile you on our website as a contributing practitioner and include your sessions in our central Carers Month booking system, so carers can book directly through the same system as all other participating practitioners.
What Could My Day Look Like?
You can choose the level of involvement that works for you.
Morning: 9:30am – 1:00pm
Afternoon: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Full day: 9:30am – 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break
You can offer 30-minute or 60-minute sessions, depending on your practice and what works best for you.
You don't have to commit to a full day. Even a few hours of your time can make a difference.
How Will Bookings Work?
We’re using a centralised booking system for Carers Month events.
Once you have registered and your practitioner details have been confirmed, we’ll provide the information needed for you to participate in the booking system.
Carers will book their sessions through the central Carers Month booking system, rather than needing to organise bookings individually with each practitioner.
Carers will also be able to contact you directly if they have questions about your practice or the session you're offering.
Registration & Requirements
To participate, you'll need to complete our practitioner registration form.
The form collects the information we need to:
- Confirm your participation
- Collect your practitioner profile information for the website
- Record the service you're offering
- Set up your available sessions and location
- Provide information to carers
- Collect your accreditation or qualification details
- Collect a copy of your current professional insurance
Professional accreditation and appropriate insurance are required. This is a requirement of the venues hosting our events.
You'll be asked to provide evidence of your relevant accreditation/qualification and insurance for the service you are offering.
Your Practitioner Profile
The information you provide through the registration form will also help us create your Carers Month practitioner profile on the website.
Your profile can introduce carers to you and your practice and explain what you will be offering during Carers Month.
Carers will be able to contact you directly if they have questions before booking.
Can I Give Out My Details?
Absolutely.
You’re welcome to provide business cards, flyers or other information for carers who may wish to contact you after their session.
We simply ask that anything you provide is appropriate and relevant to your practice.
No Sales Pitches
Carers Month is completely free for carers.
We ask all participating practitioners to respect that this is a community initiative created specifically for carers, rather than an opportunity to sell services.
You’re welcome to provide your contact information so carers can choose to contact you after the event, but there should be no sales pitches, pressure to book further sessions or expectation that carers purchase anything.
No Charge for Your Session
Practitioners are generously donating their time and skills, and carers do not pay for their Carers Month session.
We do not ask carers for donations or payments for sessions, and practitioners should not request payment from carers for their Carers Month session.
This Is an Adults-Only Event
Carers Month events and one-to-one sessions are for adult unpaid carers.
What We Ask From You
We’re asking practitioners to:
- Provide their session free of charge
- Hold the appropriate qualifications/accreditation for their practice
- Have appropriate professional insurance
- Complete the practitioner registration form
- Provide evidence of accreditation and insurance
- Arrive on time and be prepared for their sessions
- Respect the shared event environment and other practitioners
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Avoid sales pitches or pressure to purchase further services
- Let us know as soon as possible if they can no longer attend
- If you are unable to attend a session that a carer has booked with you, please honour that commitment by arranging an alternative time with the carer to provide the session free of charge.
What We’ll Do
We’ll coordinate the central booking system, promote participating practitioners through the Carers Month website, provide information to carers, coordinate the event program and do our best to create a welcoming environment for everyone involved.
Where possible, we'll also work to provide quieter spaces and practical resources to make sessions more comfortable.
Thank You
We’re incredibly grateful for your generosity.
Carers Month only exists because people are willing to give their time, skills and energy to support others.
Whether you offer a few sessions, a whole day or provide sessions from your own practice space, your contribution helps us give carers an opportunity to receive rather than give for a change.
We'd love to have you involved.
