ABOUT US
Community Supporting Community
People coming together to give something back to carers.
Carers Month was born from a simple idea: what if we brought people together to give something back to those who spend so much of their lives caring for others?
From that small idea, a community-led initiative began to grow.
Carers Month grew from the Healers Community Care Collective, a community of more than 600 wellbeing practitioners from around the world who volunteer their time, skills and experience to support communities where wellbeing and spiritual support may not otherwise be accessible.
As Carers Month has grown, people from beyond the Collective have also joined us, bringing their skills, time, ideas and generosity to help create something for carers.
Many of the people involved in this project are carers themselves or have been carers in the past. We understand that carers often spend so much time giving to others that there can be very little left for themselves.
So, we're creating a month where carers are invited to receive rather than give.

Our Story
We believe real change can begin with ordinary people choosing to come together and do something meaningful. We’re passionate about community supporting community, without waiting for an organisation, government grant or permission to make a difference. When people connect directly, share what they have and contribute what they can, we can create meaningful change from the ground up. Carers Month 2026 is one small example of what is possible when people come together simply because they care. We want to inspire more connection, generosity and community spirit, and to show that we don’t always need large organisations or formal structures to make a difference.
We believe the world changes when people come together and we’re here to be part of that change.
What We Believe
We believe wellbeing, connection and spiritual support should be accessible to everyone, particularly people going through difficult or challenging circumstances. We want to bring our skills, time and support into communities where they are needed most, including carers, people transitioning through hospice and end-of-life care, frontline healthcare workers such as nurses and paramedics, survivors of domestic and family violence, disadvantaged and marginalised communities, and others who are doing it tough. We believe there is a place for connection, spirituality and compassionate wellbeing support alongside the many other forms of care and support people may receive.
Why We’re Here
What started as a small idea to hold an in-person event in Tasmania quickly grew. We now have events planned across Tasmania and Victoria, with interest also coming from other parts of Australia. This is our first project working together as a community of volunteer practitioners, and we're excited to see where it takes us. There isn't a large organisation behind this. There isn't a commercial agenda. It's simply people coming together and saying, “We can do something to help.” And that's what we hope Carers Month 2026 will become, a celebration of what is possible when communities support their own.
No Sales. No Pressure. Just For Carers.
We want carers to be able to come along without worrying that they're going to be sold something, pressured into booking another service or expected to give anything in return. These experiences are being offered freely, with no sales pitches and no obligation to purchase anything. You can come along, try something new, have a cuppa, meet other carers, listen to a speaker, enjoy some entertainment, participate in a group experience or simply take some time for yourself. This time is yours.
A Volunteer-Led Initiative
Carers Month 2026 is being created and delivered by volunteers. Practitioners, presenters, facilitators, volunteers, community members and supporters are contributing their time, skills and resources because they believe in what we're creating. There are people behind the scenes organising events, contacting venues, welcoming carers, preparing spaces, coordinating practitioners, providing refreshments, packing up at the end of the day and doing all the little things that make an event possible. Everyone is giving what they can. That’s the spirit behind Carers Month.
