October Group Offerings
Before You Book
1. Attendance & Booking Guidelines
Unlike individual 1:1 sessions (which are strictly limited to one per carer), you are welcome to attend multiple group experiences, workshops, and community offers throughout October, subject to venue capacity and availability.
-
Direct Bookings: RSVPs, ticket registrations, and inquiries are managed directly by the independent facilitator or host business.
-
Commitment to Attend: Group spaces are limited and provided voluntarily by facilitators. If you can no longer attend, please notify the facilitator as early as possible so your space can be offered to another carer.
-
Punctuality: Please arrive a few minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Facilitators reserve the right to deny late entry to minimize disruption to group environments.
2. Independent Facilitators & Hosts
All facilitators, presenters, venues, and businesses listed in this directory operate as independent providers. Bookings and attendance arrangements are made directly with them.
The independent provider is solely responsible for:
-
Managing venue selection, health and safety, fire safety, and physical accessibility;
-
Holding valid Public Liability Insurance covering group activities or public dining;
-
Assessing physical, emotional, or environmental risks associated with the activity;
-
Clearly disclosing equipment requirements, dress codes, or physical intensity levels;
-
Managing group sizes, registration lists, and cancellations; and
-
Complying with all relevant statutory, health, and consumer laws.
Carers Month, HCCC, and its group organizers do not employ, supervise, or direct group hosts, nor do we attend or oversee group events.
3. Food, Dining & Allergy Disclosures
Where a group experience or community offer involves food, beverages, catering, or dining:
-
Allergens & Dietary Needs: You are solely responsible for communicating any food allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions directly to the venue or host prior to attending or consuming food.
-
Host Responsibility: Food preparation, storage, food safety compliance, and allergen management are the exclusive legal responsibility of the venue or hospitality business.
4. Group Safety, Respect & Environment
Group settings bring together diverse community members. To ensure a welcoming and safe environment for everyone:
-
Respect & Conduct: Participants are expected to interact respectfully and courteously with facilitators, venue staff, and fellow carers. Harassment, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
-
Third-Party Conduct: HCCC does not control or supervise the behavior, actions, or statements of other attendees at group events and accepts no liability for third-party conduct.
-
Personal Boundaries: You are always in control of your own participation. You have the right to step out, pause, or withdraw from any group activity or exercise at any time.
5. Health, Accessibility & Due Diligence
We encourage you to review event details carefully before registering:
-
Health Disclosures: If an experience involves physical movement, sound therapy, breathwork, or outdoor activities, please consult your medical practitioner and inform the facilitator of pre-existing health conditions or mobility requirements.
-
Accessibility: Please check venue access, parking, and facility layout directly with the host prior to attending.
6. No Endorsement & Disclaimer
Inclusion of a group event, workshop, dining offer, or product on Carers Month does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, certification, or safety guarantee by HCCC.

About Jo
I’m Jo, founder of Breaking Barriers Fitness Coaching. I use fitness and movement to help people find greater balance in their body, mind and responses to pressure.
Through boxing, kickboxing and strength training, I work with adults aged 35–65 to explore what happens in the body and nervous system when things get challenging, while building strength, coordination, confidence and physical awareness.
The training is the method. A stronger, steadier you is the point.
What to Expect
Sessions combine boxing drills, heavy-bag work and balance training. The focus isn’t on pushing yourself to exhaustion, but on reconnecting with your body and noticing how you move, breathe and respond under pressure.
We build real technique, strength and coordination in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. No previous experience is required, and all fitness and skill levels are welcome.
There’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. Simply show up, work at your own pace and give yourself an opportunity to move, learn and build strength.
